Auto Futura's CAV-GT Hits the Pavement as the 2007 Motor Racing Legends Pace Car

For the second year in a row, the Auto Futura CAV GT took center stage as the official pace car for the Motor Racing Legends race. This annual race holds an especially prestigious allure as it immediately precedes the legendary Le Mans 24 hour endurance race.

Driving the CAV pace car was Ray Matlock, founder and CEO of Ray Matlock Limited. Considering the fact that he has two British Formula Atlantic championships under his belt, Ray definitely knows his way around a racetrack. He has also won an impressive nine Group C2 world championships.

The Authentic Shelby Cobra CSX8000

Tagged:

In 1995, Shelby American began production in Nevada and became the first automobile manufacturer in the state. The line they miraculously began to put out included, among other series’ wonders, the amazing CSX8000.  Also known as the 289 Street, the Shelby Cobra CSX8000 became the authentic continuation of the Cobra that first shook the sports car world in 1962. Available as a fibreglass bodied component vehicle, this little bad boy offers an amazing driving experience that is as just as authentic as the Cobras that were built over 40 years ago.

Shelby's Cobra 427 Competition (Video)

The 427 Shelby Cobra is an oldie but goodie, this car needs no introduction. I had a poster of this car on my wall from the age of ten until I left home for college. This is a dream car, my dream car. It was built to do one thing and that is to race and win. Carroll Shelby was thinking way ahead of his time when he thought of this car and then him and ford split ways only making 160 in 1965, making the Shelby Cobra an instant classic Shelby muscle car and every boys dream.

With many cars today adapting racing design and technology and with all the effort to bring the spirit of racing to road cars, a lot of present day drivers are given a taste of what it is like to feel the joy of cruising in speed. For any serious racer who has experienced the tracks, however, nothing can beat driving in the tracks in a vehicle especially designed for it.

Do I Hear The Lola T70 Replica Rumbling?

Tagged:  •    •    •

The Lola T70 Replica is, as you would expect, a gorgeous looking car - sleek and sporty from nose to tail. It is modeled after the  "fastest race car" winner, back in 1966. The win took place at the Riverside Can-AM 1966 Championship Race. Winning the title in that race is attributed to a man by the name of John Surtees, who ultimately brought the entire racing team together. Only two very exclusive, limited edition versions of this were ever produced.

Talk About an Adrenaline Rush: Take a Cobra or a Vette Around the Track at Break-Neck Speed

Talk about an adrenaline rush. Close your eyes and picture this: You're taking a turn at top speed. You're behind the wheel of a Shelby Cobra and the G force is so strong that you can't peel your head off the top of the seat.

You can feel the vibration of the engine all the way down to your toes and you just know that if you blink your eyes, you're done. Hair up on the back of your neck and sweat trickles down your spine.

The Mystery of the Aston Martin Replica

Tagged:  •

There is a lot of mystery around this replica which is why it probably has the same kind of intrigue afforded to the original Aston Martin. The Aston Martin Replica first began as the “DBR Replica Project” about 10 years ago but it was more recently taken up by AS Motorsports in 2007.  All mystery aside, these boys have improved the brakes, suspension and structure of the car and made it into a truly amazing vehicle.  Then they have farmed out the panels and bodywork to the highly qualified company “CC Panels” to complete a well-rounded race car for the ages.    For those of you who don’t know it already, the Aston Martin 2-Litre Sports car was originally sold by Aston Martin from 1948 to 1950.

Steve Martin is a real talent as an actor, writer, musician and comedian who also drives one of these sweet little Austin Healey vehicles in one of his famous movies Father of the Bride. It was a successful car which won its class in many European rallies.  Now, the Cavaliere 3000 is a limited production roadster modeled after the 1967 Austin Healey 3000 that classy Steve drove as Father of the Bride.
