La Bala, my scratch built kit car is almost finished. This video is a walkaround that shows the new wheels, new rollbar and windshield finally in place. Still missing are the headlamp buckets and covers and the mirrors. This car will be available as a kit for anyone that wants to build their own La Bala, or as a completed car for people that just want to pay and drive. La Bala is very lightweight at only 1,400Lbs and very fast with just a 4 cylinder engine. Since it is so efficient it gets great gas mileage too! The light weight design means it accelerates quickly, stops and turns like a go-kart but has full size safety features and can be driven on the street. The car in the video uses a Toyota engine, but the car can use almost any small displacement production engine from any manufacturer. Toyota, DSM, Honda, Nissan, GM Ecotec, Ford Engines, they all fit!
