SEMA is the ultimate car show. Held annually in Las Vegas, this is a must see event for car enthusiasts worldwide.

I was pleasantly surprized to come across the Ford Shelby GR-1 (Group Racing 1) at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas in 2004. It's sexy and sleek. It is definitely inspired by the Shelby Daytona Coupe of the 1960s and packs a modern punch of more than 600 horsepower. The car is based on the chassis of the Ford GT. I want one.

The Ford Shelby GR-1 concept car was on a rotating turntable so it was easy to capture a number of great images.

In November 2004, I dropped by the Shelby American Factory with my wife Arlene. It was late on a Saturday afternoon and I was expecting at best to be able to look through the window and hopefully see a few cars.
Needless to say, we were thrilled to see that we just stumbled upon a photo shoot of the Carroll Shelby Bike from Orange County Choppers of the hit TV series American Choppers and two Eleanor Shelby GT 500's.
As you can see there was almost no one around. I was expecting at anytime for the people from Shelby to ask us to leave or put the cameras away. They didn't and made my wife and I feel very welcome.
We spent a couple hours with a camera man and three guys from the Shelby Factory and these amazing machines. While we were there another trailer, Cobra and a GT 350 arrived as well. We were like kids in a candy store.
An original Cobra and GT 350 Mustang also made a surprise visit.

Here's a great shot of the engine compartment of the Factory Five Racing Type 65 "Daytona" Coupe. It offers a very clean look. I particularily like the color of this car, especially with the contrasting white rims, side pipes and stripes.

I imagine this car would handle amazingly well. I am curious to how much engine noise you would get in the cockpit. A lot less than my Cobra I bet.

There has been a lot of talk about the look of the rear end of the GTM from Factory Five. Myself, I like the way it looks in the photo.

Here a frontal shot of the GTM Supercar prototype from the boys over at Factory Five Racing. It does have a menacing look for sure.

I had a read about and seen a number of photos of the prototype for the new GTM Supercar from Factory Five Racing. I like the look of the car, but I prefer a car with history like the Cobra. I bet it will turn a lot of heads though when finished.

This was my first chance to have a good look at the Spec Racer from Factory Five Racing. If we had a suitable race track where I live I would own one of these cars.
