The Ferrari 360 Replica is based on Peugeot 406 Coupe and this car has got people doing double-takes. Made by Extreme Cars, the engine of the 360 Replica was designed to sit in the front and to power the front wheels. Did I say the engine is in the front? That’s the first thing people say…… “What? I thought the engine on the original 360 was in the back?” Yes, that’s true about the engine being in the back but that’s not the end of the story on the 360 Replica. The front engine placement gives you the option for four seats in the Replica and, more importantly, the chassis is so strong that you can also put a second engine in the back.
That’s right. You’re doing the double-take. Two engines in this car has got everybody doing “double-takes” every time they talk about it. It’s a double take in terms of engines and there are mechanics doing double-takes every time the owners pull these car up to their garages. You heard me right on both counts. You can put two 3L engines into this car and enjoy 4 wheel drive at the same time. You can completely dominate the road as well as turn every head that you fly past on the side lane. Apparently it takes two engines to really get the sparks flying these days so Extreme Cars has now announced that it is programming a limited run edition which will get TWO 3.0 V6 engines and will be available for about $US45,000.
Somehow they’ve taken a humble Peugeot 406 Coupe and transformed it into a dual engine Ferrari. The car is also pretty big just like the original 360 and it has a lot of extras just like a high class car should. Numerous exterior pieces such as doors, mirrors, lights, roof and bumpers along with an interior package with centre console and seats are available. The dashboard is very similar to the genuine car and the interior kit door panels can easily be made to look like the 360 door panel. With all those benefits, the single engine version only costs about $US22,000 and is available in both 2L and 3L V6 engines...single of course. They also use the popular “Brembo” performance brakes on the 3L V6. The whole thing takes about 100 hours to assemble and don’t make me tell you three times… This is a car that definitely deserves a second look.
