New Era of Auto Parts Shopping: Point to a Cold Air Intake and Click!

By Marilyn Stokes
You know you're getting older faster when something fun gives way to something convenient so easily and without a fight, and it's happening with almost everything - even auto parts shopping. Car guys like my husband Frank used to frequent a local auto parts store as a Saturday morning destination - they'd meet there, get out their parts lists, take their turn at the counter and cross off what they could buy. Then, they'd wander out around back to visit with the greasy-armed guys bent under their open hoods, even though the little sign says, "No Working on Cars in Parking Lot." Afterwards, it's go for coffee and commiserate over what parts they still need to locate--and the Saturday morning is either shot, or thoroughly enjoyed, or both. Now, you can still do that for fun, but more of these parts seekers are staying home and shopping online at huge auto parts websites like Auto Parts Warehouse, www.autopartswarehouse.com.

Then the spending of what adds up to be a lot of money refurbishing components and parts, and ultimately, there's always the disappointment of discarding some parts bought that prove, after all, not to be worth the effort to redo.
