As 2007 came to a close, I thought it would be fun to take a look at the top ten most expensive cars for the year.  They're all real beauties, and most are legendary muscle-bound speedsters.
 
So it should come as no surprise that among the top ten is a familiar name that every kit car enthusiast reveres.  That's right, Carroll Shelby's 1966 Cobra holds a top spot as one of the major automotive sales of the year.

Every now and then, two truly exciting events converge to create a once-in-a-lifetime thrill.  I just read about such an event, and it’s just around the corner. I’m talking about the 37th annual Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction (one of my favorite annual classic car events) and one very special automobile that will be on the block there – Carroll Shelby’s own 1969 GT500.
