So when was it the last time you saw a car from a video game or a cartoon series on the tracks in reality? Oh we aren’t talking Speed Racers anymore! We are talking about ‘real’ reality! Remember the Gran Turismo 5: Prologue video game? Well yes the Citroen GT is a car that popped out of that video game right into the streets of London making everyone drool over it.   

Imagine how cool would a car be that was created after being inspired from a video game? That’s exactly what everyone thought when Citroen first announced that they will be producing 6 limited pieces of this sports car at the 2008 Paris Motor Show. And they actually did so sometime later in collaboration with Polyphony Digital. Believe it or not, this was one car that never raced in reality but everyone knew what it would be like especially the ones who had played the game! 

However, bringing something exactly from games to reality is not possible! We don’t see Spiderman and Prince of Persia hopping around or do we? Similarly, there were some changes that were made to the original car.

The car was fitted with a V8 engine whereas in the game it features four electric motors. Of course they had to integrate a V8 engine to make it more appealing to sports car lovers. They wouldn’t buy a car with electric motors but would rather admire a car with a V8 engine and so was the car fitted with one. 

Now, the best part or worst for some is that the car actually looks like it has come out from a video game. It is 15 feet in length and 3 feet tall and when driven on the road of London, it made people go all crazy! Its not just about the size, the car also comes with a huge windscreen that starts from the front and ends at the back. You would actually feel like you are sitting in of those Star Trek airplanes! More than that, it also came with a uniquely designed exterior and interior. The overall body had huge air intakes on the side and in the front with horizontal LED headlights and huge 21 inches rims with a unique diamond effect. Well that’s what the company calls it!

The interior is way more amusing then the exterior. Leather seats and a dark interior is what makes this car look more elegant and awe-inspiring. The seats are padded and are set low compared to the seats of traditional sports cars. Another luring feature is the red LED display which gives you a visual of the track making you focus on where to in case you lose the directions! 

The story of this car would be incomplete if we don’t talk about its voyage on the road of London where it actually gained the hype! How would you react when you see a 15 feet long car that doesn’t look weird in fact looks super-cool passing by you? Well you would seriously react like most of the people in that video are reacting. Stunt and impressed! 

So all in all, this is a car every sports car lover would appreciate but unfortunately there were only limited models created and sold for $ 1.5 million each. If you didn’t buy it then get the game at least and have some fun with the Citroen GT!
