About

This association serves the Chicago Metropolitan area and its bordering states. The Chicagoland Replicar Association has members from all walks of life; the only requirement is to be passionate about kit cars. It has a huge membership and all kinds of cars to boast about. From kit cars and replicas to specially manufactured and handcrafted vehicles. If you have a component car then you can be a member as well.

The Chicagoland Replicar Association was organized by the late Edward MacArthur in 1971. The idea was conceived in Lake Forrest, IL. The president is Ken Smith; he has held the position since 1994. The clubs logo is beautiful! It was designed by Bob Freeman, a very talented member of the club! The three grilles on the center of the log are from Alfa Romeo, Bugatti and Mercedes respectively.

Their Newsletter, called the Rak ‘N Opinion, is published six times a year. Ken Smiths wife Meha is the editor.

The membership at the Chicagoland Replicar Association can be quite beneficial for the average member as well. From technical assistance to scheduled events, the members can find many activities to suit their tastes. The newsletter also has a For Sale section for members where they can advertise their custom cars, antique cars and kit cars for sale.
But it’s not just for the members! Throughout the season, the club schedules events and car shows where families are invited. These are great times to increase your networking with other kit car owners and let the kids enjoy a picnic.

So just pick an event form their busy calendar and bring your family for some fun under the sun!

The newsletter, Rak ‘N Opinion, was created in 1995. It is published not only in Chicago but seven out of state sister clubs publish it six times a year. It contains everything from interesting car stories to photos of their latest member cars. Members are welcome to submit their articles and pictures for publication.

The classified area is reserved for kit cars and replicas. It contains some real beauties for example a Show Car Cobra is on sale these days. It has already won a couple of trophies.

The website of Chicagoland Replicar Association also boasts an online store. Members can get quality shirts, golf shirts, sweatshirts, baseball jerseys and every other clothing item imaginable. The prices are good and all the merchandise is marked with the clubs logo. They can even make special items with your cars picture on them.

Chicagoland Replicar Associations calendar is always full of fun events for the whole family. For example coming up June 27th will be their gears and ears show. Held in Kendall County Fairgrounds, Yorkville, Illinois, this event has something for the whole family.

Also in August, the Milk Pail Classic Car Show has the honor of being the highest attended car show since 2002.
