The Goodwood motor circuit was established at a wartime airfield called the Westhampnett in 1948. Since then Racing has been the biggest obsession for everyone over there.
The Goodwood motor circuit boasts some very dangerous straights and corners and since decades people have gathered over there to satisfy their need for speed car racing. In 1988, the circuit was completely revamped by the Earl of March to accommodate the newer, faster cars. The circuit now plays host to some of the biggest international motoring events.
The Goodwood Festival of Speed is held each year in July. The Goodwood Park becomes the home of visitors for 3 days during the festival. It gives motoring fans an unparallel experience to meet their motoring superheroes of the past and the present.
Another amazing event organized by the Goodwood Road Racing Club is the Goodwood Revival. It takes visitors back to the golden days of the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s and lets them experience firsthand the glory of the early motoring days.
Goodwood Road Racing Club gives its members some very enviable privileges. Not only do they get to attend the motoring sports at a reduced cost but the members are allowed full use of the clubhouse called The Kennels.
The grandstand and entrance tickets are discounted for the members. Goodwood Road Racing Club gives its members some very juicy deals. At both the Festival of Speed and Goodwood Revival, members have a members marquee, forward parking and of course an exclusive trackside
Park and Picnic facility.
The Kennel is a beautifully restored Grade1 listed Georgian construction. It is the main clubhouse for all the Goodwood sports and a member’s home away from home during all Goodwood festivities. Members also get to participate in the car display Open Day at Goodwood.
The Goodwood House also features a Members Summer Ball and of course there are Christmas celebrations at the house as well. Both these events provide the members with an opportunity to mix with like minded people and enjoy their passions together.
Members of the Goodwood Racing Club also get to visit Formula One and Motorsport racing teams behind the scenes. There are special international racing tours, members are welcome to join for a small fee.
