Replica and kit car builders all around the country know the name of Chassisworks, inc - yes, there's no capital "I" and no period after "inc"-- that's the way Chassisworks rolls. Based in Las Vegas, Nevada where car builders of all genres gather to test their newest babies on the many off-road desert tracks by day, and party at the watering holes at night, Chassisworks, inc have been the insiders' go-to guys for affordable wannabe chassis plans, from Lamborgini Diablo replica chassis to Corvettes, to one-off custom racing demons built by your cousin Louie. Now, the specialty fabricating company is expanding its scope and building an actual retail website, shopping cart and all.

In late 2004 my wife Arlene and I attended the Western Cobra Round-up in Las Vegas.

This video was captured during a day cruise to the beautiful Red Rock Canyon. The cruise was well attended primarily by Factory Five Racing owners and an amazing Shelby Daytona Coupe.

It was the beginning of November and the holiday season was bearing down on us. In need of a break and some alone time with my son, Justin, we hopped a flight from Vancouver to Las Vegas where we joined countless attendees for a truly remarkable SEMA Show 2007.

You may have heard of the SEMA, the Specialty Equipment Market Association founded in 1963, which represents the $36.7 billion specialty automotive industry of 7,094 member-companies. It is the authoritative source for research, data, trends and market growth information for the fast-paced specialty automotive industry.

The SEMA Show is the premier automotive specialty products trade event in the world (PLEASE NOTE: THE SEMA SHOW IS NOT OPEN TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC). It draws the industry’s brightest minds and hottest products to one place, the Las Vegas Convention Center. As part of the AAIW, the SEMA Show attracts more than 100,000 industry leaders from over 100 countries for unlimited profit opportunities in the automotive, truck and SUV, marine and RV markets. SEMA Show 2006 drew over 50,000 domestic and international buyers through two million square feet of exhibits. The displays are segmented into 11 sections, and a New Products Showcase features more than 2,000 newly introduced parts, tools and components.

Located in the Las Vegas area of Nevada, the Nevada Replicar Association is dedicated to those interested in Component, Kit, Replica, Specialty and Handcrafted Automobiles.

In November 2004, I dropped by the Shelby American Factory with my wife Arlene. It was late on a Saturday afternoon and I was expecting at best to be able to look through the window and hopefully see a few cars.

Needless to say, we were thrilled to see that we just stumbled upon a photo shoot of the Carroll Shelby Bike from Orange County Choppers of the hit TV series American Choppers and two Eleanor Shelby GT 500's.

As you can see there was almost no one around. I was expecting at anytime for the people from Shelby to ask us to leave or put the cameras away. They didn't and made my wife and I feel very welcome.
