Originally known as the first "dot-com car", the Ginetta G20 is a light little roadster that excels in handling and performance. Let’s put that right out front because, if you are interested in competitive road racing, this British built car has got what you need. Comfort and practicality? Hmmm……Well,…. the G20 has no doors and you are going to have to squeeze into the cockpit. Taller people still seem to manage because there is no roof! Did I mention the handling and performance? In fact, I should probably mention handling and performance over and over a few times because you aren’t likely to want to ride in this little firecracker without some goggles or a helmet. You are definitely going to want those in order to keep bugs from smashing into your eyes. The leather seats are nice but items like carpets and heater are out of the question. Anyway, back to handling and performance.
Regardless of the die-hard racer’s little inconveniences, the Gineta G20 offers the chance to beat everybody else on the track. That’s what really matters right? In fact, with a sealed Ford Zetec 1.8 liter engine, sealed gearboxes and differentials, controlled tires and suspension parts, this is the most cost effective but competitive racing car in Britain. You are going to win and still have some loose change in your pocket because the Ginetta G20 goes for only about $25,000. Who needs windows an doors at that price right!
The Ginetta G20 is also proving its superiority at the Texaco Havoline Ginetta G20 Championship this year. This is where new racers can get involved in competitive motor racing in their new Ginetta G20 and prove that they have what it takes. The Club Ginetta races are one-day events as organized over 7 dates so there is plenty of chance to get involved. Another perk is “Club Ginetta”, which is open to any Ginetta G20 race car and aimed at private racers rather than professionals. If you are serious about racing, this is a serious car to consider. The Ginetta G20 can be purchased in both Europe and the US where a Mazda MX5 engine is substituted for the Ford Zetec. Either way, painted and ready to race, you are going to blow them off the road!
