Here’s one that will really get the neighborhood kids scratching and clawing at your garage door windows in order to sneak a peak. The Sylva Riot looks like a cross between a convertible dune buggy and a glorified soap box racer. Remember when you were 15 and could only dream of a car like this? Do yourself a favor and find that old kid inside your heart who wants to make his dream come true. This is the new version of the original Mojo with a motor cycle engine inside to deliver striking power in a light weight vehicle. It’s everything a teenager could dream of and it’s actually very affordable.
The original design of the Mojo used a Yamaha R1 engine but it was redesigned to hold a Ford Zetec SE and this added upgrade eventually went on to win it the kitcar of the year award in 2005. The Riot R1 has now come to light as the ultimate value for your money and it looks pretty sweet for the neighborhood kids to get a big kick out of as well. If you have a kid of your own, this is the way to really bond with him while you turn him into the envy of the neighborhood. Weighing in at a measly 400kg, it’s performance is amazing and the teenagers could only dream of taking this little firecracker for a drive. It’s got great gear changing, braking and traction to hold the road. You really feel like you are riding the open road just like you would on a motorcycle but the appeal is everything that a hot rod delivers in terms of security and a unique flavor to its lucky owner.
Sylva Autokits manufactures these cool little “zip cars” in Lincolnshire and Derbyshire, England. They’ve also designed the Fury, the Stylus and the Striker so the performance is tried and true to say the least. That’s obvious from the impressive resume and an even more from the overly impressive price tag which chimes in at only £7000 for the entire kit car assembly. For its tiny size, you can’t beat the pound for pound value of this little hot rod. That’s why I like to classify it as a 350 bhp per ton “zipper” on the road. It moves fast, giving you all the security you need on four wheels and it keeps your change carefully secured inside your jacket sleeve pocket.
