Funny, a few months ago I left Canada to fly south for winter (actually indefinitely), and find myself missing the colder weather, even the snow and ice (great for skating), as well as some of the finer points of Canadian life, including the upcoming soap box derby racing season held at Kawartha Downs, just a short drive from my former Canadian home.
The Gravity Cavity, home of the Greater Peterborough Soap Box Derby Association (GPSBDA), will start its racing season off on May 10 hopefully after all the snow has melted. Appropriately called the Spring Dust Off, the season's opener draws spectators from across Ontario, many of whom return for all nine events slated for this season.
