Founded in 1995 by Jim Price of Hi-Tech Automotive as Superformance International, Superformance became a privately-owned car manufacturer in 2005 when Hi-Tech Automotive transferred ownership of Superformance International to the Hillbank Automotive Group, owned by Lance Stander.  Mr. Stander is now Chief Executive Officer of Superformance.

Superformance’s presence in North America is represented by a wholesale distribution subsidiary called Superformance International, Inc., as well as numerous dealerships across the United States.  Superformance dealers can also be found in Canada, the U.K., Germany, Holland, South Africa, Chile and Australia.  To locate a dealer, visit the interactive dealer map on the Superformance website.

All Superformance component cars are created in Hi-Tech Automotive’s 270,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Port Elizabeth, located on the southern tip of Africa.

Superformance is not a kit car manufacturer.  All Superformance component cars are delivered completely painted and assembled, ready for new owners to drop in their choice of engine and transmission.

Superformance manufactures the MKIII, inspired by the Shelby Cobra.  This replica car is the only one of its kind licensed by the creator of the Shelby Cobra, Carroll Shelby.

In addition to the MKIII, Superformance produces the GT40, which is eligible for official GT40 registry as a continuation GT40.  Superformance also manufactures the SPF Coupe, also known as the Shelby Cobra Dayton Coupe.  This Superformance SPF Coupe is licensed by Carroll Shelby and is eligible for the Shelby American Automobile Club registry.
